FAA to JAR
I am converting my FAA ATP to the UK-JAR ATPL. What are the exact requirements on the flying part. What exams to take. Sofar I found out, IR & CPL. What need to be done in a twin and what can be done a single (complex)? Is ther a difference when converting from a FAA-CPL to JAR-ATPL or FAA_ATP to JAR-ATPL? Appreciate any help in this case. So far I had many answers and they all whistled a different tune. Mr.Qte. |
CPL Skill Test - Complex single or multi as desired ,
Min 15hrs training for IR + IR test - both multi , 14 written exams Class 1 medical . There is not a conversion process as such; The FAA Commercial requirements may not satisfy the JAA ATPL hours minima, whereas the ATP is about the same as the ATPL. |
And from what I can gather, wont give much change out of $35,000 USD. :( :)
Hence If I had that money and a Job to go to. I would get a type rating. Plus it stoo cold in the U.K.:} Regards Sheep |
Download the leaflet at http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/175/srg_fcl_gid25.pdf, click on (5) "conversion of a non JAA professional license...".
Should cover it. CAA Personnel Licensing Division may often be justly criticised, but they are at-least very good at explanatory leaflets. G |
