Airbus fuselage markings?

Was looking at an A319 yesterday and noticed small red triangles painted on the fuselage sides approx at cabin floor level, and spaced such that there are about 5-6 along the length of the fuselage. Each one is approx 2" wide, and all point the same direction.

Theories are either - a) it's related in some way to weighing or
balancing, or for CofG calculations,

b) they are there as alignment marks for
assembly in the factory,

c) they are used for alignment checks of
wings/stab's or other flight controls

or if in doubt..............d) none of the above!!!!

Can someone please enlighten me as to the true purpose as everyone I've asked hasn't a clue
