Question Aircraft leasing?

I recently found out that our airline leases its aircraft on a 16 year lease plan. I had heard that the airframe is only useable for 10,000 cycles? What happens after the 10,000 cycles? Does the plane then have to go through a D check or is it no longer useable. The aircraft in question is the CRJ200. I have been told that the first two CRJs purchased by Comair/Delta Connection have already been parked because they reached their 10,000 cycles. All this has gotten me a little confused. Why are the planes leased for 16 years if they can only be flown for 10,000 cycles. Does the company have to keep paying off the leases even after they are parked? Thanks in advance
