AF Concorde Departure

Why does the AF Concorde out of CDG make a left turn at about 50 feet on departure?

Obstacle? Then why only the Concorde?

I think you may mean the recent tv footage of the last JFK departure, if so it is for noise abatement procedures as there is housing towards the end of that particular runway at JFK. Concorde is the only 'heavy' to accomplish this turn with ease, if you can watch some B747 etc try to do the turn, not very good at track keeping and end of over the housing.

IF it's CDG then I don't know for why.

Could be JFK - wasn't sure... Just seems to be a pretty decent turn at 50', and haven't seen it done elsewhere!

From RW31L at JFK, both BA and AF Concordes start a left turn after lift-off, not below 50'R, for noise abatement. No point in doing the same in a 747, since the no.1 engine will prevent you getting the bank on!
