Pilots' social life

Hello.
I wonder how pilots' social life is like? Do you have to be away from girlfriend/wife for 6 months (saw this in another post)??? Do you have time for friends other than those in aviation?

Thanks alot=)

There is no "typical" airline pilot. Your family and social lives are what YOU make of them.

However, especially in the current economy with its dearth of available jobs, you may have to make some sacrifices in order to get a job at all.
