UAV application to commercial aircraft

I don't know how many of you follow military aviation, but UAVs and UCAVs are extensively used by the major air forces of the world. Indeed, the F35 is supposed to be the last manned fighter, and Britain's FOAS is supposed to have a UCAV characteristic.

So why not apply this, with existing autopiloting to commercial airliners to control aircraft from the ground in case of emergency? (I'm talking hijack here).

Thanks.
