Is it true that European Aviation are in financial difficulty as they have apparently been fined for filing there accounts late and have made a loss of 1.82million

Dear Chris-Man,

If only you had researched before you posted this thread you would have discovered the EAC is now in the hands of Peter Bath.

Good luck to everyone at EAC hopefully your futures are now on pole position (sorry about that!)

Certainally Bath Travel is a big well established travel brand in the South, does this mean that Bath Travel is now going to form its own in house airline as opposed to wet leasing an individual aircraft

Talking

And just how long are those old 732's and 742's going to last.

I would expect less than a handful of aircraft to be operated before long.

Yes the Bath co. are respected locally. But that doesn't give you squillions to waste on an airline dream. The reason they did so well all these years is because they did wet lease at a fixed cost.

Also am I right in what I heard. That they have only bought EAAC ( ie those old girls and an AOC). Not the profitable spares or sim side of things.

Its a consortium that includes the Bath Travel group - that will ive them the squillions to update the fleet and run an inhouse airline - as long as they have a client base to fill the seats, the client base in the Bournemouth area has got to be a dying breed (Literally) !

Dear Chris MAN
Its hard to see how you can conclude that EAAC is in financial trouble based on the late filing of the accounts for FY 2001/02!!
Late filling is not as uncommon as you might think

EAAC has been going through some ups and downs over the last few years. They are now owned by several interested parties, who will all benifit greatly from being involved. I am sure many people will be watching with interest over the coming months.

Now is the chance of a fresh start, getting rid of dead wood and encouraging new growth.

What's the status of the 737 operation? We hear a lot about he 747 operation - is the 737 operation still busy? What types of contracts - military charters or leisure (Palmair)? How will the Bath purchase affect things?

What about the BAC-111 - are they all permanently grounded or is EAAC still operating a few for Minardi (spelling)?

Best of luck to all involved!
