BA 319s/RJ100s at BHX
Hello
Are there still any A319s of BA based a BHX, I thought they where moving to LHR, some are still timetabled for the winter season. Also, what capacity do the BA Citiexpress RJ100s hold?
Luke

All the CitiExpress RJ100's I've been on are configured 3x3 which makes for a capacity of around 120 I think. Needless to say, this is extremley uncomfortable and should be avoided wherever possible. Sitting in rows A and F means bending your neck to one side due to the curve of the fuselage and extremley narrow seat. There is nowhere near enough bin stowage space either. Dont sit under the wing if you're taller than four feet!
Most operators seem to use 2x3 which is much more sensible.

Flown on the Chipfryer RJ's many times.....
I am over 6' tall and do not have any problem with the seats or headroom. The baggage bins are smaller under the wing but the headroom under them is constant throughout the aircraft (it would look pretty stupid with a step). There is reduced headroom in the cabin under the wing but this is not noticable and I have never banged my head on the roof lining. The seats are electrically adjustable so the cabin can be reconfigured to give a four abreast business class. I'm not sure but I think the last two rows at the back are four abreast not six. I don't often sit in the back, what's economy class?
As for most operators using 5 abreast, I can think of only one off hand, and thats Mesaba, and that is only because of the pilots scope clauses in the US (they operate RJ85's with less than 70 seats).

SN-Brussels-Delta-Air-Transport-whatever-they-are-called-this-week, Qantas Airlink and Ansett all operate 2-3 config on the 146.
IMHO much more comfortable than having to contort yourself into the window seats....takes all the fun out of having '1A' on your boarding pass!!

I've also flown SN, BD commuter, Manx, Aegean, Lufthansa Cityline, Crossair, Air Wisconsin (UA Express). All 2x3. The only other 3x3 I've come accross was Aer Lingus and that was nearly empty so it was OK.

Dan Air's (remember them?) were 3x3... thankfully everyone else's I've flown on have been 2x3 - even DAT's which was a bit of a surprise and the only positive thing that could be said about the interior
