Anyone Seen These Orange Lights Over the Indian Ocean?

Has anyone else observed recurring orange/red lights at night over the Indian Ocean, India, or Myanmar area? Usually two or three lights visible for 3–5 seconds, then disappearing, then reappearing later. Seen both eastbound and westbound.

Without a video, it sounds like parachute flares as seen frequently near army training areas in the UK.
