flight duty limitations and 900hrs a year
Hey everybody,
Im just a little confused,
I realise the 900 flying hrs limitation for a pilot in any 12 months (quite a controversial subject!!) but is their a limit somebody can be on duty in one day, month or year, or is it 900 duty hrs per year, which means a hell of a lot less flying hours per year.
Im getting conflicting info. if someone could set me straight id appreciate it.

Ere not a very good question, you must be a spotter or journalist
or both.
Strictly speaking crews are limited by FDP "Flying Duty Period" which in the UK depends on what time you report for duty and how many sectors operated, the more sectors = less FDP.
Report at 0800-1259 more time to fly, report at 0001 = less time to fly. All very logical and safe in the UK,but not so in places like Spain and Belguim where anything goes.
