it all depends...are you alone, is a a two men crew in the sim, how many are in the groundcourse, which simulator...up to £15,000 are easily possible...
If you don't have it yet, don't do it...too many 146 drivers are still looking and no aeroplane to fly...dead horse after the BAe negative decision about the RJX....

there was one in Washington for about half the price of Woodford. Dunno if it's still there but I believe Debonair used it for conversions. Flybe engineering will quote for a course but make sure you're sitting down before you hear the cost!

Be careful,

Reading between the lines you have been asked to pay cash upfront for a type rating prior to job placement?

There is a scam currently doing the rounds with a Scandinavian base ref 146 type ratings.

Any reputable company will pay for your type conversion if you are the person they require. They will then bond you for the cost of training over a few years to make sure they get their moneys worth out of you.

Thumbs up

The BAE-146 simulator in Washington DC is run by Pan Am International Flight Academy and is $600 per hr with $115 for the instructor. The type rating can only be done by their examiner if you complete the ground school with Pan Am Academy as they run a FAR142 school. There is also reasonable availability. Their school is good and run by ex-BAE instructors.
