can anybody please tell me what the minimum hours are before you can start an instrument rating in the u.k. and am i correct
in assuming it will cost around 12k.....cheers.

150 hours P1 for a PPL holder (55 hour course)
100 hours P1 for a CPL holder (50 hour course)

Both the above are for issue, not before the course. Budget £10,000 - £12,000 for an IR-ME-SPA, much less for an IR-SE-SPA.
