Safety issue!

HI, everybody, I really need your help about this topic.

Our company, will add a 767-300 to the fleet.
At the moment we are flying a 767-200, operating under the rules of the country of origin where it is registrated. In that country a crew of four pilots is required for ETOPS operation overseas in flights between 18 /22hrs on duty.
This new 767, will be registrated in our country, that's where our problems start, because here, ETOPS operations can be performed by only 3 crew members instead of 4. Of course, this fact is supported by the "smart guys" from our company, imagine how happy are they to save 25% of the crew cost. Sounds good, never mind the excessive workload and safety!!
As a matter of fact, many coleagues have been recently dismissed, people that would be called back to work otherwise.
Our local Pilots Association is planning to argue against that, so any information or material about this would be appreciated. Let me know if you need further information.
Thank you all very much for your help!

3 crew on ETOPS? Consider yourself lucky, my company uses 2 crew and I was doing ETOPS (B767-300) with less than 1000 hours. Great fun, eh?
Best of luck,
leslie

Ok Leslie, sounds tough
I might not have made myself clear. How many hours on duty or flying time take your regular operations?
In my case, MINIMUM 18hrs on duty and 14 flying time.
Thanks for the answer.

In my company, with those duty hours, we definitely use a four man crew. However, that isn`t etops, as we currently operate those flights with 744`s. The 777 is on the way though......

I remember those narrow taxiways in Montevideo. Weird sight from the second floor of a 744....
