Latam 787 missing a saw-tooth at Akl

I noticed a Latam 787 at Akl the other week. It was missing a saw-tooth chevron on the right engine. I know the Trent 1000 has had fan blade issues, but never heard of chevrons breaking off before. Any idea how this happened?
