Sad but true
I know you may think it's sad but I'm a babe who has a keen interest in aircraft. Can anyone tell me what a 143 is? Thanks a lot.
>Well, after 31 hits in next to no time, I am still without info-where are all you technical bods? Out flying I suppose. I have got a bit further with my investigations-British Aerospace = manufacturer. KLM UK fly this type of aircraft from Stansted. Now, surely someone can help?Living in hope......

ma'am ...
look it up on airliners.net - i would do if for you but the site isn't loading for me right now. By the time you read this post the website will probably be up again.
Anyhow, enter any info into the search field and i'm sure you will find what you are looking for.

It's probably something screwy like a 146-300, if such a thing exists. Where have you heard it? On the R/T? At many airfields pilots have to advise ATC of their a/c type (because airlines sometimes swap types at the last minute without telling anyone!). Pilots tend to use the abbreviations which we use... but they're getting so complex I can't recall exactly what a 143 might be! We get BA-146's called RJ.. something, which throws me for a complete curve! "744" is a 747-400 for example.

Many thanks
Many thanks to all of you who read my first ever message at pprune and especially to those of you who supplied informative replies. Most useful, I will certainly take up your leads. Isn't the world of aviation absolutely fascinating? Grateful thanks again. If anyone else wishes to communicate I would love to hear from you. Thanks again-an enthusiastic novice.
