For RYR pilots...
A simple question, for payment, when do your block hours start? Is it on brakes release on pushback, engine start on non-pushback stands or is it from when you first move forwards under your own power?
Block hours for payment are what you are rostered to fly, no more or less.
If you complete a sector 10 mins early you get the full scheduled block hour payment. If you push and hold, get delayed or any other issue, you still only get the scheduled block hour payment.
However, going on my time there, on average you got paid for more hours than you logged. There was a sneaky trend going on with new routes, where block times were being sliced and turnarounds extended at places with long ground delays like FCO so you would for ever be a victim of credit theft, but the fat built into the turnaround stopped there being any punctuality issues.
