A320 Simulator

Can someone please tell me how an instructor can position an aircraft at a specified location in the air in the simulator from the Instructor Operating Station( console) other than the pre-programmed locations like 12 NMs final, FL100 , FL350 etc? For example if I want to position the aircraft on 320 Radial at 25NMs from OMDB, how do I accomplish that? Thanks.

Put ac in the air, tap map where you want to be, hit "Reposition to Cursor"
Works on CAE built sims, not sure about L3/Thomson Thales/Aerosim devices.

The actual selections would depend on which type of A320 simulator you are using.

Options include;

1. A touch reposition (accessed from the MAP page I think from memory )
You could then use the slew function (POSITION CONTROL - Aircraft Slew) to set HDG / SPEED / ALT etc or adjust position FWD / AFT / LEFT / RIGHT etc. Or just start from a standard in flight position and use the slew function. You could also enter the LAT/LONG ( if you know it ) from the slew page.

2. If this is a regular position then first time take a snap shot which can be recalled later ( Simulator Control - Snapshots ).

This is for a THALES A320 simulator

I am sure your instructor would know how ?
