Question Go to States? Or stay home?

Folks:

I have 4000 multi-jet time in a 73 and after 5 years, am in the left seat of a B73 with a good airline.

BUT i could move to the states next year if i want (with authority to work etc.) should i go?

Is it worth giving up everything i've worked for here, will it be tough to get into something there in teh states, any ideas folks, any idea?

Here I normally get back home the same day,

how does are flying patterns handled in the States with the majors? I've heard its 2 weeks out of home and 2 weeks back in?

True? False?

Any revelations welcomed!
Thanks

Stay home!

If you go you'll almost certainly have to start from the bottom as an F/O earning far less than you do now. Probably take 10 years with a major to make Captain.

Good Luck whatever you decide!

Look at the thread on Southwest salaries here - year one FO is shocking! It may give an idea. If you are a 737 captain there may be better opportunities, e.g. Aussie or the UK
