BMI to Catania, Sicily

I recently went to Sicily on a Thomas Cook package holiday and when arriving and departing Catania airport i saw a British Midland A320 arriving.
I have checked their time tables and website but can find no reference to such a service.... anyone know if they fly there or was this a charter ??

Cheers, Spitty

Cool

bmi fly their own charter programme in the summer,out of LHR,usually on behalf of the smaller, lesser known holiday companies.You know the ones who advertise in the glossy mags etc. usually includes destinations like Corfu, Naples, Palermo & Ajaccio etc.

bmi also does charters out of EMA, MAN, DUB, GLA, BFS... It's the only time the planes are full these days!

BMI charters

As previously stated, BMI are doing a lot of charters this year from various UK airports to the holiday spots, they were initially timetabled as follows, I don't know if all of these flights materialised, but I think most did.

Manchester (EGCC) -->
Alicante, Palma, Girona, Larnarca, Heraklion, Fuertaventura, Corfu, Paphos, Mytilene, Faro
(All MAN charters use A320/A321 equipment)

London Heathrow (EGLL) -->
Catania, Naples, Calgiari, Palermo, Kos, Rhodes, Ajaccio, Preveza, Volos, Corfu, Barcelona, Santiago, La Coruna, Santiago
(All LHR charters use B737/A320/A321 equipment)

Glasgow (EGPF) -->
Verona, Heraklion, Girona, Pisa, Alicante, Kos, Venice, Ibiza
(All GLA charters use A320/A321/ERJ-145/FK100 equipment)

East Midlands (EGNX) -->
Verona
(EMA charter uses FK100 equipment)

Belfast Int. (either EGAA/EGAC) -->
Verona, Las Palmas, Tenerife, Heraklion, Reus, Fuertaventura, Girona, Faro, Almeria
(BFS/BHD charters use A321/ERJ-145 equipment)

Dublin (EIDW) -->
Ibiza, Las Palmas, Zakynthos, Lanzarote, Faro, Mahon, Malaga, Palma, Fuertaventura
(DUB charters use A321 equipment)

Leeds/Bradford (EGNM) -->
Verona
(LBA charter uses ERJ-145 equipment)

BMI charter flight numbers are 4 figure from 7000 to 9000.

Cheers
