North Pacific Diversion Airports

posted 16th June 2002 05:51
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Years ago (and several airlines ago) I assisted in the production of a guide for Aleutian airports including Cold Bay, Adak, Shemya King Salmon, etc.

Emphasis was on suitability for diversion of a widebody jet, including available accommodation or shelter in winter for 200-300 passengers in the event a bleed duct leak (or other failure) precluded the ability to heat the aircraft once on the groud.

Alas, I have long since lost this useful pamphlet - any long-haul operators care to share an updated version these days?

Thanks to all.
