Rapid Decompression incidents where the oxygen systems worked - Is there any data?

After review the conversation regarding the Germanwings Aircraft accident, I wondered...

I didn't want to add to that thread, so I started this one.

Have there been any incidents where there was a rapid decompression and the systems worked?

I saw the video of how fast hypoxia can affect you and I can see you wouldn't have much time to put on a mask.

Further, from the passengers perspective, if the oxygen had to be generated, I wonder how long it would take for the system to produce enough breathable oxygen to the masks.

Well , if that was the case the aircraft would have levelled off ,and continue to fly for hours until it ran out of fuel like Helios case.

Pretty much instant, but it lasts only as long as the oxygen generator works which is around 12 minutes.
