Odd aeroplane at VIE

Last night at VIE I perceived an odd aeroplane about 1710Z. It was a small military jet with a T-tail, mid-to-high wing, very low to the ground, with some form of underwing tanks and Austrian military (BUNDESHEER) markings....and I'd not a clue wot it was or what it was doing there. If you can imagine a BAe Hawk with a T-tail and slightly uglier you'd be close. Any ideas?

That was what I thought initially, but I wasn't aware they were still flying! But having seen your photos, it was a 105 without a shadow of a doubt. Thanks.

Additional information ..

Actually the Swedish Airforce has build up this team, Team 60, like the British Red Arrows and they are using the Saab 105.
Not that the quality of the Team 60 show is as good as the Red Arrows.
I saw them last year at a military Airshow in Aalborg - Denmark, and they where doing pretty OK. But I must say, that the Italian team was the best and most daring, better than the French team.

You can see Team 60 homepage here: Team 60

Talking

Indeed it is an odd aeroplane - but I would rather call it OLD!

It is a SAAB DRAKEN ("dragon") which is operated by the Austrian Air Force - the only one still flying this vantage fighter.

The reason for the visit was obviously to train the firefighters at VIE how to cope with this aircraft should it have any problems.
