A320 approach types

When we want to do vor/dme approach as "man / sel ", do we have to arm approach(by pressing apprch p/b ) ? I think we arm the approaach only for man / man cases? Correct me if i am wrong . Thanks..

Yes thats correct, APPRpb only for mgd/mgd.
For mgd/sel press the hdg knob to arm lateral NAV, and select v/s or fpa for descent.
