Using stockholm radio for phone patching

Hello
I would like to clarify the full procedure when using stockholm radio for phone patching ...
To start with I contact the best frequecny based on my location
2. On initial call I give callsign , approximate position and frequency used ( and also advise we want to make a personal call) .
3. After some time in which the operator may have to adjust its antenna , the procedure says that it is better to make a SELCAL Check . This is one part I want to clarify since I completely forgot how this works after training.
4. Then the stockholm radio guidelines says that a discreet non aeronautical frequency will be allocated . What happens at this point ? The receiver that I want to contact ( I.e my company ops) will have already answered a call waiting for me to communicate on the frequency given ?

Did all that 25 years ago.
These days Sat-Com is king.
Is Stockholm Radio still in business?

All I remember after 20 odd years ago.........was contacting StoRad by phone giving a/c selcal and apprx position. When contacted they would patch the a/c through via landline.
But times have moved on as Towerdog says.

Yes they are still in business and very helpful. I am not sure you would want to be making personal calls at their call charges, but 50 dollars is money well spent if acars is broken and you need to call the company urgently.

You just call up on the listed frequency and as happened last time they suggested a better frequency and then patched me through to ops, who then completely disregarded my suggestion. The result was thousands of dollars of additional cost, but the Stockholm radio bit worked fine.

S: "SmallJet 123 Stockholm, stand by on SELCAL AB-CD" TWEET-TWOO

A: "SELCAL OK Smalljet 123"

TWEET-TWOO

A: "SmallJet 123 answering SELCAL"

S: "SmallJet 123 Stockholm, I have your phone patch with company, go ahead."

Unfortunately it's still cheaper than Satcom.
