Have the charter companies cut back too far?

Well I suppose anyone with a now surplus fixed wing licence in their pocket will automatically say yes. But my question is brought about by the fact that I have just tried to book a long looked forward to holiday to the Maldives in April next year, only to discover that the flights are already booked up. Could it be time for frantic catch up!!!!!!
