Proprietry Information

In another thread the issue is raised that company operating procedures are propriety information. Is that the case? Or does it vary country by country? Certainly not the case when the accident report comes out.

Seems then we are all guilty by the mere fact of discussing "how our operation does it" here on Pprune. Thanks for the answers Guys & Gals.

UNLESS.

talking about things in general terms and pointing to other sources that are public is one thing.

copying verbatim or using copy machines/scan is quite different.

UNLESS

Guilty of what?!?

General discussion and paraphrasing of concepts and text found in a book is fair use under copyright law as I understand it. Description of common-use procedures is also fair use, especially when those procedures have their root in other companies' (e.g., Boeing or Airbus) documents.
