Robotics to take over Pilots jobs?

The future of jobs: The onrushing wave | The Economist

Look at the graph about half way thru the article, and look where Commercial Pilots rank.

55% probability of loss of jobs in the next 2 decades.

Not good odds for future of our profession

Thoughts...Comments....?.

For what the article is worth, the 55% number can be obtained by reading tea leaves... and there is no mentioning whether the prediction is over a 10 year or 100 year time period.

Yes, there is opportunity to automate the pilot away (Drones!) But will passengers opt to fly a drone? Anyway freight does not complain (and pilots don't have to worry about their load of lithium batteries or other dangerous stuff.) And there's the other missions, like crop dusting and areal photography where drones already made inroads.
