Exceeding

Say a pilot has exceeded the limit for for flying hours for one month in a said airline.
How would this affect the pilots future job prospects?
Is this something that is thoroughly checked by airlines during the hiring process?

Most likely said person is going to get a kicking during an audit or if there's an incident or report filed...

The big question is, did you break the law? Were you planned into exceeding your hours? If yes, both your company and you have a problem. But if you bust your limit by a few minutes because of unseen circumstances, report it and that should be that. But you must remember that you are ultimately responsible for your hours.

Both you and the airline share a responsibility for ensuring that you do not exceed regulatory limits in this respect. However, that doesn't mitigate your responsibility. I am not sure I understand your concern. Were you prosecuted for this transgression? I would have thought (unless this was a recurring event) that was highly unlikely. You (and your employer) wouldn't be the first to commit this transgression.

How will it affect your future job prospects? I can't really see why it would even arise as an issue. A hiring company may check your logbook records particularly where the hours requirement is crucial, however I cannot see why they would audit each and every monthly total, unless there was something glaringly wrong.

I really do think you are worrying unnecessarily, unless there is something more to this?

Appreciate the response.
The airline was basically scheduling pilots to exceed the maximum hours for a month, with the caa having approved it verbally. Corrupt country, with no regards to safety or regulations. Lets not go there.
Was just wondering how precise other airlines or civil aviation authorities would be about auditing the logbook in case pilot were to apply for work elsewhere.

Thanks
