Pilot Scenario/Situational Based Training
Hello everyone,
I've been recently tasked by my company to modify one of our ground schools from the traditional teaching model to that of a Scenario/Situational Based Training (SBT) model.
I've been aware of SBT for a number of years, but I have never read myself into the material until now. I've downloaded numerous articles, journals, studies, and reports from a university website and have begun reading through them over the past two weeks. However, I'm wondering if anyone in the PPRune world has had the opportunity to develop such a program and whether they would be willing to share their experience, provide link(s) they found enlightening, or book titles I should purchase.
Additionally, if any training or line pilots have experience with SBT, what did you find effective/ineffective? What would you add/remove from your program (context would be greatly appreciated!)
As I am developing for a transport category aircraft, I am primarily focused on information and experience from an airline or military standpoint, although I greatly appreciate any anecdotes from anywhere in the industry at any level of experience.
Thanks all!
