737ng WPT and STA data

Hi ,
Does anyone know the source of the WPT and STA information that can be displayed on the Nav Display ?
I had thought it would be stored in the FMC Navigation database but have recently read something that causes me to doubt this.
Cheers

Wherever it is, it is updated by the regular 'database updates'. Can you expand on what you have 'read'?

Hi BOAC,
The MRG app says that with a dual FMC failure WPT and STA will be available on the ND map display. This surprises me and I'm trying to figure out if it's accurate.
Cheers
