LoL vs Income Protection (UK)

Have looked at threads dating back to 2003. They mainly seem to cover sand-pit/Australian operators...

Shopping around, have a couple of pre-existing medical conditions (which have been declared) but I don't want a policy that will ONLY pay out if my Great-Granny was born on a Wednesday afternoon...

Lumley Insurance (Cirencester) seem to be the way forward regarding aircrew income protection...??

Any thoughts...
