UK CAA license renewal

Anyone know much about the UK JAA license?

Just been informed by the CAA that if I don't renew my Instrument Rating by the end of July I'll have to take all seven IR exams to renew it if it has expired for more than 7 years!

Without a current type rating on the license I'll also have to get the 777 rating as well.

Any ideas on the best/cheapest way to go about it.

Thanks,

It's EASA now, not JAA. You'll also need to convert to an EASA part FCL licence, which means you'll also have to prove you can speak English...

Yes, after seven years the ATPL exams drop off the face of the Earth and back to ground school we go...

The cheapest way may be a flight around the patch in a Duchess/Seneca or the like, unless you can get the T7 on your licence at a reasonable cost.
