ATR 42/72 Rating

Hi. Is the rating required to fly ATR 42 and 72 the same, or different?

Not quite true. It depends what licence (FAA, JAA, etc) you have. For instance, most JAA States would require you to follow an initial ATR72 differences course if you have done your rating on ATR42 sims (and vice versa). It takes an extra sim session, plus groundschool to cover the differences.
