A340 modifications

hey guys , airbus had made many modifications on its A340-500/600 versions , one of these modifications are as shown in the pic bellow :








in A340-500/600 version we notice that the end of the rudder has been cut compared with A340-200/300 version the rudder end isn't cut .

Also in A340-500/600 version we notice that we have 3 apu outlets , 1 is up & 2 are down compared with A340-200/300 version we have only 1 outlet .


The question is in A340-500/600 version why the rudder end has been cut + what is the purpose of the apu 2 lower outlets ?

from what I heard, the cut in the A3456 rudder is to avoid interference between rudder and elevators at large deflections.

The two lower APU "outlets" actually are vents / cooling outlets of the compartment.
jettison valve is offline
