Post LHR737BA

I am shortly to join the BA LHR 737 fleet and I would be interested to know what destinations the fleet serves. Also is the fleet exclusively 737-400s and what is the future of the fleet? Looking through the BA timetable revealed only Aberdeen, Bonn, Stockholm and Copenhagen. Do they go anywhere warm!?
Can anyone help fill some gaps?
Cheers

For Jun:
ABZ*, ARN*, BCN, BLQ, BRU*, CPH*, DUS, FRA, GLA*, GVA*, HAM*, MAD, MAN, MUC*, NCL*, OSL*, STR, TXL, VIE*, ZRH. * = nightstop.

This list will change each month...

All 734 I think - BA have 733/735 at MAN (LGW? as well)

Future - only a year or 3 at LHR before being run down again. Good news for you if you're joinging the fleet - so long as the run down happens, you'll get a valid bid off to another fleet before your 5 yr freeze expires.

Nigel,

BA have 737-500's (G-GFF/) at Manchester now, their 737-300's were passed onto Gatwick. They are used as an interim until the Minibuses arrive (A320?/19?) and serve practically all the European detinations from Manchester, such as Brussels, Paris, Dusseldorf etc. The Embraers do a few as well.

Hope this helps

PS. Prince of BA... They have started doing Manchester with those 737-400s.... there's somewhere warm for you

Try dropping Pandora an e-mail as she is already on the 737LHR.

To my knowledge currently about 6 planes rising to 12 over the next year. They'll all be 737-436's, ie BA spec 737's from new. Also I think the best 737's that BA have.

At some point, around 2004 I believe, the fleet will once again die and the BA737 will be no more at LHR, replaced by the Airbus.

From 2003 Manchester will re-equip with Microbuses, A318's.

Talking

Most of the B737 destinations are within walking distance of great night-life. You can look forward to being camera shy and keeping in touch with Easy Jet and Ryan Air. When you realise which BA you are employed by and the future of this kind of flying they will be useful people to know (providing you still have a licence!).
