Question How common is this among flight crew?

I think the title of my previous post sounded too much like a wind up so thought I'd try again with a less volitile title. I really am curious.

------------------------------------------------
I read the thingee here about DL's discovery of KAL's numerous CRM/Ops shortcomings and was amazed to read that a Captain apparently stuck a First Officer while in flight. Being somewhat familiar with many Asian cultures (former Buddhist priest/monk) I believe it ... but on an AIRCRAFT?!
Any expat aircrew care to elaborate? Is this more common than one would suppose? Is it usually among the native speakers or have expat (read Euro/US/Oz) crew been on the receiveing/giving end of this sort of thing?

Very curious.
