Question Shorthaul to Longhaul?

Those of you who have made the transition from SH to LH how did you manage with the change in lifestyle?

If you are away for up to a week at a time does this put huge pressure on the other half to run the family?

I prefer it now.
The trips seem to get shorter and shorter.
Most of the time I'm only gone for 4 days.
But my time off is longer and more consecutive.
Of course you need some of that to recuperate.
The places you travel to are more interesting.
Sometimes you get to do other stuff there, not work related.
You see more sunshine in the winter.
Now you can take her with you once and a while.
The ocean crossings are not all that fun after a while,
but neither is stretch 4 on day 5 on short-haul.
It's definitely my choice.
Actually hers too, but you do need a woman who can handle things a bit.

Well I made the transition from long haul back to short haul a couple of years ago and I think it was propbably the best thing I ever did. It's wonderful having a meaningful relationship with your own bed! Horses for courses...
