Old flight time limitations

I wonder if anyone could supply me with information concerning flight time limitations pre cap371. In other words the 1950s 60s & early 70s. I would also be interested to learn something about BEA's scheduling agreements of the period & also some information about Professor Ruffell-smiths "points system" as used by the airline
