Post Calling Engineers and those in the Know…

I currently hold a frozen ATPL and Jet Type Rating…

I would like to know what exams etc… I would need to sit in order to carry out repairs / work on “public transport cat” aircraft such as a Warrior or similar Type; and would this require me to become a Licensed Engineer…?

Any information would be gratefully appreciated…

For at P/T C of A a/c you will need to be a Licenced Engineer. (see Pilot Magazine quiz for this month).

You would need a UK CAA LWTR - License without Type Rating, although I have a feeling that in this brave new world of JAR, the name and syllabus may have changed subtly.

Most techncial colleges in the vicinity of big airports do offer evening classes and exams for a few hundred quid. Your ATPL technical should stand you in good stead, but don't expect it to be that easy.
