Post Buzz - howgozit?

Most of the low cost carriers have recently released news of passenger numbers, new routes and bases. All these news releases paint a positive picture for them but I have not heard any news on how Buzz are doing.

Any comments from within the company? I am not looking for statistics but just a general view on how things are going from those within the company.

Thanks in advance.

I think buzz is doing okay. Not growing like the weeds at Rynair or Easyjet, but carving out a niche. At the beginning of December they announce a 15% increase in pax, and a number of new routes.
"In order to develop buzz's network within France, with 12 new routes, including domestic flights, we have had to adapt our network more closely around truly low cost operations". Dropping a few longer destinations like Helsinki and Milan.
It's owner KLM is not quite sure what to do with the lowcost sector. Buzz is expected to become profitable within the next year, it does not represent the core of KLM's business. KLM also has a lowcost experiment going on in Holland around Basiq air. A subsidiary of Transavia (another daughter of KLM). I would expect that everything centers around what KLM's future will hold. Which alliance it will join. Buzz has a good business model though, and with the right aircraft who knows?

Yes, doing OK thank you. Summer will see buzz flying to more French destinations from Britain than Air France, and also becoming the first UK airline to operate French domestic routes. Check the website at www.buzzaway.com, there is a press release section. The future's yellow!
