A320 MCDU. How to practice?
So I am due to start my TR in a month or so, and want to learn whatever I can before I start.
Is there any software that I can use which will give me a good idea of how the MCDU / FMGS works.
I do believe it would be unnecessary for me to get into the FCOM4 and read from there for now, is that right?
Thank you all in adv

MS flightsim has some pretty good add ins that give you access to the mcdu.
SAS also did a procedural trainer that maybe available from somewhere.
FCOM4 is a bit of hardcore place to start. Time maybe better spent to go through FCOM1to get an overview of the systems. Getting you're head around the mcdu is quite a low hurdle to jump when you get into it you will be getting plenty of exposure.

I went into my type rating course with virtually no knowledge of the aircraft's FMGC/MCDU and was paired up with someone who had used a flight sim trainer on his PC and was very skilled to start with. I did feel several steps behind him at the start of the course but I got through OK so don't get too worried if you can't practice beforehand.
