Post Platinum Air 2000 To stay or go ?

speaking in the Comed Empire (growing by the day) rumour control tells me captain John Mason has gracefully stepped down as CEO, or sacked ! Will Platinum Air 2000 still be flying the routes stolen from Comed or has RM got something up his sleeve to step back in and take what he has worked for over the last seven years ? Word on the street is a SD360 is ready to go as soon as the southerners retreat or fall by the way side !!!
Long live Comed and RIP Platinum & BAC

How can you 'steal' somethimg from a company that goes out of business ??

I think that is called 'The Real World'.

Did British European 'steal' all those routes off Gill over the past few weeks ???
Word from 'up north' is that Platinum are still doing rather nicely, in fact a fair bit better than old comedy were.
As for the 'southerners' retreating back where they came from............dream on !!!

Go RM Go its about time that lot from down south called it a day.
I wonder if Mr Eastwood will be crawling back in the hope you can get him out the mud pile again. He started all this and now will need your help again make him grovel RM.And what about all them staff that went to P2000 with not so much as a care for the man that gave them the break and proceeded to slate RM and Comed off.Rob tell them to go somewhere else if there not to "old" whoops prob too late.
I know the loyal ones will be back to make Comed 2 better than ever and the disloyal ones well what can I say ill find out the phone no of the job center "the least i can do"enjoy the queue girls and boys

To Relaunch and ISDABS3,
Comed may once have been a reputable and professional company (giving it the benefit of the doubt)however,as it approached its demise,it was in tatters and the aircraft were in hell of a state.
Now, if employees are in fear of losing their jobs or in fact lose their jobs, then they are going to find work elsewhere. Fortunately, for those looking for work and capable, Platinum came along and mopped them up. This was a blessing for them for which they were truly grateful and by and large, very happy where they are now.
Both of you seem to exude anymosity and envy,(what lovely characters you both must be to work with-not) and it seems to be directed toward Platinum.
Does a little bit of healthy competition (that is if you can compete)make you soil your 'y'fronts and vent your frustrations and bitterness in the manner you do.
LET'S SOME COMPETITION.

Smile

And how would the ex Comed employees (now flying the shiny J31) feel about having to reapply for their "old" jobs on a more than likely ageing Shed (or more likely an Aztec and a Chieftain if you're lucky !).
And also there will be lots of free tickets for those who lost out on the previous folding, Hmm.....?!?

Lets be honest now, Comed have absolutly no chance of ever making it again. So many people lost money when they went bankrupt and for the last few months the planes were never on time and over booked. People were totally fed up with them and would not fly with them even if they came back. With all the problems over insurance, I don't think that they will even be able to fly. People seem to forget the hassel that Comed caused. The airline was run badly, the staff were not given the support they needed. I remember a time when the passengers came off the plane in tears! I worked in the airport at Ronaldsway and remember people saying that they would never fly with Comed again. The people who worked for Comed, and I know a few, were sad to see it go and were fortunate to find another job with other airlines. Any one who is able to have a job in the industry at the moment is fortunate to be able to keep it. There are many job loses and to think about going back to work at Comed, if they were to start up agin, they must be either very brave or .........
I myself have experience of Comed and Platinum and I have nothing but praise for Platinum. They found a route that needed covering (and that Comed had no chance of winning back) and have made a fantastic go of it. I know that they will not be going under and they are going from strength to strenth.
Face it guys, Comed is ancient history and that is the way it will stay!

Platinum will definatly carry on doing the good job that it has been. The last thing that Blackpool Airport and the public wants is to see Comed back. There a a lot of very unhappy and poorer people out there who would never trust RM again, let alone any of his aircraft. No disrespect to them but they tried it once and messed up badly.

A1 Please feel free to give comed a call at blackpool, they are up and running and growing by the day,
Mutley, there is no such word as competition when your back is against the wall and you are being shafted by everyone, Platinum was an inside takeover with the help of the Council, the airport management and local grant money, what you appear to not mention is Comed operated the routes for seven years, Platinum jusr seven months.
Fragul
The x Comed employees would not be invited to rejoin the team, out with the old in with the new !! (apart from two of you)
Platinum are dead no one been paid little chance of being paid for next month, staff cuts already, Airport bosses already in talks with others who will run the route
The truth is obviously smarting but sit tight and watch the phoneix rise.
RIP Platinum and Blackpool Air Centre

Well TICKLE ME who dragged A1 into the conversation hes obviously very well informed (not)he also seems to remember those poor people coming of the plane crying (i dont think so)what sobbing there hearts out!!! oh please A1 why do you have such an axe to grind as far as im aware some of ur relatives worked for them and gave it there all in troubled times rite to the end they are the ones with b###s and was it RM that really brought the company down NO.
Get ur facts rite A1 and ask questions of those supposed backers that pulled the plug so that they cud get there hands on something that wasnt theirs at 'least all concerned new the truth. It was a sad day but i believe it will come back and there is still 1400 people per month not able to afford what platinum charge they as a company said up yours to all u hard working people we only want the rich and business people on our planes and you A1 are prob one of those that cant really afford their prices so they said up urs to you so carry on and defend them by all means but ull have nothing to defend soon RIP Platinum

Thanks ISDABS3, by the way what does ISDABS3 stand for?
An operation is all set to start the moment the southerners retreat, and watch this space hopefuly this week!
Platinum are living in or living on cloud 9, no way will a jetsream operation with the small selling power, the high crew costs and aircraft costs ever work, by the way two Jetstreams impounded at Southampton for unpaid maintenance, crews briefed not to take any other aircraft near!!!
JM what ever have you done to bring this company down so quick?
Comed seven years and ready once more, Platinum just seven months!!!
RIP Platinum

A few facts. Comed is nothing more than a bar in the corner of the car park at Blackpool Airport. Platinum is still operating out of Blackpool to the Isle of Man and Belfast twice daily. It also continues to operate to Dublin twice on Mon Wed and Fri.Both services are profitable. The Biggin service will probably cease owing to the fact that Bromley Borough Council has banned scheduled services into the airport.

Relaunch, if your friend the chrome-domed milkman is so flush with cash that he can acquire an SD360 then maybe he'd like to do the decent thing and pay his ex chief pilot the £5000+ he owed him when Comed went bust earlier this year. It's about time you took a reality tablet and realised that Comed is history as far as scheduled services are concerned because if Platinum don't operate the routes then there is an established regional operator waiting in the background.

Oh dear arent all the anti-Comedites getting upset about RM getting back in business.
Lets examine the facts P2000 packing in London svcs (lets blame Bromley Council).Dublin going a stormer (i dont think so).2 planes short that they cant afford to bail out of prison, staff not being paid, fast reducing fares on the IOM-Belfast route (desperate measures),A sacked CEO (probably to Laker Airways) Directors that dont even know who they are employing or weather they are paying them and a leased J41 that prob costs a fortune. What a company maybe I can invest in them.
My investment has to be not cash but advice to staff get over to the car park and beg for your jobs back (go on it will give RM a laugh at the very least) RIP Platinum the end is near
