Question Ice

I recently passed some time at AMS, waiting to be deiced, and started wondering:

1. What's the rough composition of (rig-applied) deicer?
2. What temperature is it applied at?
3. How long does the treatment remain useful?
4. How much does it cost to treat a typical aircraft?
(5. Is there a worse job than being a deicer-sprayer?!)

Purely out of curiosity, can anyone enlighten me? Thanks!
