Post Russian/Soviet aircraft?

Was wondering... what are Tupolevs, or Ilyushins , like to fly compared to Boeings and Airbuses? From the pilot's point of view, I mean?
I've met and spoken with a number of Russian pilots mainly of Tu134s and Tu154s. Several have said that the aircraft are "very aerodynamic", "good design", but I wondered how they actually compare with Western aircraft to fly.

If you want to have an idea try to get the flightsim X-Plane from Laminar Research. It alows you to down load loads of aircraft from the inter net including some russian ones. It then makes quite a good aerodynamic model of them by using blade element methods. I got the Tu134 on there and flying wise, I like it very much. It performs and flies quite well for something that old...
