The IR currency has lapsed! Time for renewal. Is the IR renewal as stringent as the initial IR? Do you have to do all the same approaches and holds as the initial one or will it be much more relaxed?

Wink

hi there,
jetheat,
well no the renewal for an instrument rating is a bit more relaxed but even though you will get asked all those theory questions again that appear on the Instrument Rating test sheet. As far as the practical is concerned you can do all the approaches in the sim except where one approach has to be done in an actual aircraft, ie NDB approach. I hope that helps you calm down a bit more, anyway let us know how it goes, and trust me it's not that hard at all.
