Cool

Basically a standard/classic airline interview format.

1) Application.

First you have to apply. If we like what we see then you are invited to attend a 1/2 day assessment/interview with the company we use for this pupose – i.e. Storm Aviation (their offices are just south of LGW); This application section is often the hardest thing to get beyond.

2) Assessment/Interview

Several of you will be invited to attend a venue near LGW.

You'll all be asked to complete some psco... cyko.... sico.... (bugger it)... trick-cyclist type papers, and a very straight-forward aviation knowledge paper; no conferring is allowed !

After that you'll be individually interviewed by the folks from Storm plus somebody from Go itself. During the interview they'll have a look at your logbook(s) and license(s).

What is asked at by the interviewers much depends upon your background/experience, but imho they try very hard to make it friendly and relaxed – remember, they want to see the 'real' you !

After that, you can then go home.

Nb. They tend to interview the folks who live furthest away first, for obvious reasons.

3) Simulator assessment.

If you pass the above then you'll be invited back for a simulator assessment. This takes about one hour.

4) Meet the boss

If you pass that, you'll be invited to Go HQ at Stansted to meet one of the management pilots and / or a company director. If they subsequently like the 'cut-of-yer-gib', then you're in.

I should point out that if you have substantial B737 experience, and / or are known to the folks at Go, then a lot of the above is waived - and it’s more a case of "when can you start !?"

Ultimately a lot of store is held upon whether you'll fit in personality wise – thus prima-donnas and ace's of the base need not apply !

Hey Crash,

Isn't a prima-donna some kind of posh kebab?
