Hey all! . .I was just surfing around the ryanair site and of what I saw, I thought it looked rather good.. .However, I didn't find any requirement for an ATPL certificate. Is this correct? This would mean that I, holding a CPL (shortly) with a ME, IR and MCC and 300 hrs, would be permitted to submit an application. This makes me confused as there was no box to check for this configuration!. .And it does sound odd for an airline to recruit someone who is not permitted to advance to captain. I'm afraid to submit this enquiry to ryanair (they don't seem too willing to answer questions other than those in the FAQ!) so I'm wondering if someone please could clarify this for me. . . I don't know what people think of ryanair, but to me it seems like an excellent opportunity to get into the "loop" so to speak.

Everything you say and have read is absolutely correct. What you have failed to mention is the £50 application fee, the £100 interview, the £150 sim ride and the upfront £15,000 typre rating fee you will have to pay. (Im assuming you dont have this from your post).Its all on the site. I wont even mention the things Ive heard you will have to sign to. Did I mention half flight allowance for your first year?

If youve got the cash its your choice. For me, and many others, its one 'loop' I'll never be in...

I did have those fees in mind as I wrote the post. I see it as an investment, which will quite soon pay off. I thought the typerating was deducted from the first salary? . . . . regards/lns

Those pilots who are not type rated will initially be required to complete a Ryanair Boeing 737 type-rating Full Conversion Course, at a cost to the applicants of STG£15,000, and subsequently be hired as rated pilots.

Thanks Max. A thought just occured to me. Will they really consider pilots with 300 hrs tt, or is it a scam? I mean, they could reject the application and just cash in the money... very easy way to make money without having to prove anyhting.. .But if this is not the case I think its a fair deal.... .If I would make it through the intitial selection process, what would happen then? What tests do they use and what type of simulator do they use for the sim assesment? If anyone can answer this I would be very thankful.

The rumour that's going around about Ryanair no longer recruiting is only a rumour and no more. This was discussed in another threat a few weeks ago and everyone was told by a reliable source that there was no truth in the rumour.

I completed the online Pilot recruitment form several weeks ago providing all the requested information.

Why would an airline have a link to an application form if they weren't recruiting?! . .Seems odd... . . And poeple: I can't stand all this argue on pprune about things so small as to wether or not an airline is recruiting, if they're not, who can do anything about it? and if they're not and an application has been sent anyway, they probably won't charge you (?). Arguing about such things is pathetic if anything! Please keep this thread clean of such talk: this is a rumours network! there is another board for angry people.... . <img src="tongue.gif" border="0">

Why is an airline that is going to expand 3 fold in the next 2 years not recruiting - have they found a way to operate without pilots, or has the IAA allowed them a dispensation to operate single pilot?

To Mr. MAX. Actually Ryanair only let you pay 50 pounds for application and then 150 for BOTH sim ride and interview.( they are taken together.)
