Question x wind landing limits

if you are landing on R27 and the wind is say 210/25 gusting 35 how do you calculate whether or not the x wind component is within limits for your particular type of aircraft?

do you allow for all the gust ,some of it ,or none of it?

thanks for any replies.

Q1. In your example the wind is 60deg off at 25 gusting 35kts. This gives you geometrically a steady cross wind of 20-21kts and a gust of 30kts.. .You can use a whiz wheel to get exact results, draw a rough wind triangle or use "rules of thumb". I am a triangle man.

Q2. Gusts: Legal answer:

Pre flight, non of it. In flight all of it.

Practical answer, if you have the fuel to hang around:

Gusts seem to come in phases - tower has a meter which can integrate over some minutes. When the average gusts hit a slower period/ are less frequent, try your approach. Always be ready to go around and divert if a big one comes, however
