Question RAF VR

I'm just about finished on a Frozen ATPL, CPL/IR course and interested in joining the RAF volounteer reserve. Having heard many rumours which all seem to contradict, does anyone know if I will be able to fly (anything) with them, or do you have to be ex-forces with time on type for this. I'm still going to join and help with the Air Cadets, but would love to make use of my flying experience with them.
Any light on the subject would be appreciated.

The RAF VR(T) is your best bet. They fly Grob 109s (SLMG) and you don't need any military service. The RAF VR are mainly ex service pilots now flying Grob115s.
Contact HQ Air Cadets at RAF Newton.
