Question VDO

G'day all,

just wondering if anyone can tell me what VDO stands for.

Thanks in advance, V.V.

"Vereinigte DEUTA-OTA" (a German manufacturer of cockpit systems, especially the hours meter the flying club uses to charge you for rental time).

Europeans seem to use the expression "VDO time" the way North Americans use "Hobbes time". That is, the number of hours recorded on the gadget in the cockpit during your flight.
